Sports Injuries

A sports injury is, quite simply, any injury suffered while playing sport, or training for sport. In many cases, sports injuries are due to the overuse of a body part. Runners and joggers, for example, might suffer damage to feet, ankles, shins, calves, knees and hamstrings. Tennis players and golfers may present with injuries to wrists, elbows or shoulders.

The most common sports injuries are sprains, strains, knee injuries, swollen muscles, achilles tendon injuries, hamstring tears, shin pains, fractures and dislocations.

At PhysioNow, the vast bulk of our therapists have themselves been involved in competitive sport. Some have experience of treating Olympic athletes, world-ranked athletes and top teams. We know and understand sport – and we know you want to get back to it as soon as possible!
